Classic Chocolate Birthday Cake
Cake
Material:
• 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
• 6 tablespoons firmly packed dark brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
• 1/2 large eggs (1 1/2 tablespoon)
• 1/2 large egg yolks (1/2 tablespoon)
• 6 tablespoons of milk
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
• 1/4 cup cocoa powder
• 1/2 cup flour.
• 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt or table
Frosting
Material:
• 1/4 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
• 3/4 cup powdered sugar
• 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
• Pinch of fine sea salt
• 1/2 tablespoon milk
• 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Step:
1. Preheat oven to 350 ° f line a pan 4 inches square with parchment paper, leaving the burden on both sides.
2. In a large bowl, beat butter until light and fluffy. Cream with Brown
and white sugar. Add egg yolk and vanilla, mixing well. Add milk and
mix. In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients together: cocoa, flour,
baking soda, baking powder and salt. Sift the dry mixture to the wet
ingredients and fold until just combined, make sure to scrape down the
sides. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 25-35 minutes, or until a
toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes,
then remove and allow to cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
3. As for the frosting, beat butter until light and fluffy, then add
powdered sugar. Add chocolate, salt, milk and vanilla and beat until
